Strengthening the Promise Team With Proven Industry Leaders

This week marks an exciting moment for Promise. We’ve welcomed three new leaders to our team: Tyler Mitchell, Michelle Slavich, and Mariana Acuña Acosta. Each of them brings decades of experience from the entertainment industry and a deep understanding of how technology can positively impact storytelling.
Tyler Mitchell, our new Head of Development, is a producer, executive, and writer with a career spanning film, television, and Broadway, including senior roles at Imagine Entertainment and Impact. He knows that every great project begins with a strong vision and script, and has a proven record of supporting artists.
Michelle Slavich, our Chief Marketing Officer, has held leadership roles at Netflix, Google/YouTube, Warner Bros., and NBCUniversal, where she fostered innovative cultures and led campaigns that turned films, series, and platforms into global phenomena.
Mariana Acuña Acosta, Vice President of Product, is a leading creative technologist known for advancing virtual production and real-time workflows through her work at Technicolor and as a co-founder of Glassbox Technologies. These innovations have reshaped how artists create for the screen. Her career also includes contributions at Sony Imageworks, HBO, and Columbia Pictures.
Each of these hires brings the perspective, creativity, and leadership to help build our studio. Since launching the company, Promise has grown quickly, assembling a development slate across genres from family animation and anime to sci-fi, horror, drama, and action. Earlier this year, we acquired Curious Refuge, the world’s largest GenAI film school supporting B2B partners and artists in over 170 countries. We’re also advancing MUSE, our proprietary workflow software, which is central to building the studio infrastructure of the future. Together, these milestones lay the foundation for storytelling at Promise.
The conversation around AI in entertainment is complex, but the opportunity is extraordinary. Like sound, color, and CGI once transformed film, this new wave of innovation can unlock creativity in ways we’re only beginning to imagine. These new leaders will help us grow with intention and respect for the craft, shaping an era where GenAI transforms how stories are made.
